Azerbaijani MP: FBI needs to disclose names of individuals that Armenia refused to hand over

29 November 2010 [18:49] - TODAY.AZ
“Armenia is a country that openly and cynically ignores norms of international law," Adil Aliyev, MP of Azerbaijan’s news elected parliament, said. He was commenting on media reports that Armenia has turned down FBI’s request to hand over 30 individuals who names are featured on a list developed by FBI as part of investigation into “Pzo case.”

"By these actions Armenia only proves allegations that “Pzo” is closely connected with the Armenian government's elite, in particular, with the ex-president Robert Kocharian and brother of current Armenian leader Sashik Sargsyan and that Armenian mafia transferred money stolen from Americans to Yerevan, and, perhaps, to the occupied territories of Azerbaijan," Aliyev added.

The MP says FBI must disclose the names of persons whom Armenia refused to hand over.

"FBI already has such practice. Back in 1949, a U.S. journalist asked the Federal Bureau of Investigation to assist him in writing an article on the most dangerous criminals declared wanted by the FBI. FBI agents gave him the names of ten people, who were hiding in various locations around the globe. Journalist’s article attracted the attention of large number of readers. Since the FBI often resorts to help of ordinary citizens in apprehending criminals, it was decided that creating such a list would facilitate FBI’s work,” the MP said.

So, there are good preconditions for FBI to disclose the names of those included in the list of thirty people to be arrested, the MP noted.

"Let the whole world be convinced that the authorities in Armenia are criminals. This has long been known in Azerbaijan," the MP underscored.
