A meeting on Azerbaijan-Uzbekistan relations in the context of modern regional geopolitics was held in the Center for Strategic Studies under the Azerbaijan President on Friday.

Addressing the event, Uzbek ambassador Ismatilla Ergashev made a presentation on political, economic cultural and humanitarian cooperation between Azerbaijan and Uzbekistan.
The ambassador said his country attaches great importance to relations with Azerbaijan which he described as a peace and security factor in South Caucasus region. Ergashev noted Uzbekistan regards Azerbaijan its strategic partner.
The ambassador recalled President Ilham Aliyev`s official trip to Uzbekistan this September, saying high-level reciprocal visits contribute to boosting relations between the two countries.
He also praised the current level of relations between the two countries' legislative bodies.
The diplomat pointed out an exhibition on Azerbaijan`s economic achievements will be held in Uzbekistan early next month.
On the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, the ambassador said his country supports Azerbaijan`s territorial integrity.
Ergashev also hailed cooperation between the two countries within international organizations.
The event was attended by officials, diplomats, experts on regional and international affairs.
