Azerbaijan does not intend to join either NATO or the Collective Security Treaty Organization (CSTO) until these organizations condemn Armenia as an aggressor, Head of Azerbaijani Presidential Administration's Socio-political Department Ali Hasanov told journalists today.
Azerbaijan refuses to get admitted to CSTO, as it does not want to be member of the same organization with agressor Armenia. Azerbaijan has nothing to discuss with the CSTO, until Armenia abandons its aggressive policy and the organization makes its stance on occupation and the aggressive policy of Armenia clear, Hasanov added.
Azerbaijan will join neither NATO nor the CSTO until it meets the country's interests, Hasanov noted.
The CSTO is the military-political union created a number of CIS countries on the basis of the Collective Security Treaty (CST) dated May 15, 1992. The organization includes Armenia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Belarus and Uzbekistan.
