Georgian PM: Permanent Standing Committee to work on joint Georgian-Azerbaijani project

He said, the group will work to coordinate efforts of the two countries to develop the transport corridor Asia-Europe through Georgia and Azerbaijan, construction of a 500-kilovolt (kV) transmission line to export energy resources of the two countries to the third countries, construction of the Rustavi-Baku highway, as well as construction of the Kars-Akhalkalaki railroad.

"Only 18-kilometer section remains to be finished on the territory of Georgia and then we can start energy crossflow. Also construction of the Baku-Kars-Akhalkalaki railway will continue in August. All issues have been already resolved," Gilauri said.

"All these projects are important for our countries and will allow our states to develop and improve the living conditions of our citizens," Gilauri said stressing the importance of coordinating efforts in this direction.

He believes that the Azerbaijani President's visit to Georgia and adoption of a decision will seriously contribute to the already existing relations and economic development.
