U.S. and Norwegian ambassadors invited to Azerbaijan's Foreign Ministry

They were received by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan Vagif Sadigov to discuss visit of Norwegian and U.S. diplomats to Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic on Jan. 12-13 and joint statement they made at a press conference on Jan. 13 dedicated to the results of the visit.

Sadigov said the issue was investigated voicing protest of the Azerbaijani government  against activities of the Norwegian and U.S. diplomats during this visit, which were contrary to the ethics of diplomats in the accrediting countries and 1961 Vienna Convention on diplomatic relations.

It was emphasized at the meeting that attempts of some countries to describe some events in Azerbaijan as a violation of human rights and to politicize such cases are unacceptable and warned that such actions of foreign diplomats are not in accordance with the level of relations between the countries and could damage their development.

The guests were informed that Azerbaijan is loyal to fulfillment of all its international commitments, including guarantee for security of diplomats accredited in the country.
