Azerbaijani, Georgian left parties to integrate into international organization

The Azerbaijani People's Socialist Party (APSP) and the Georgian Labor Party will work together to integrate into the International Socialist Organization.
"The party tries to enter the Organization. We have already held negotiations on this regards. We made a decision on joint integration into the International Socialist Organization at the meeting with the Georgian Labor Party, the APSP deputy head on public relations, Rustam Shahsuvarov said.

Head of the APSP Rovshan Huseynov and Head of the Georgian Labor Party Shalva Netashvili mulled on the prospects of cooperation at the meeting in Tbilisi in early Aug.

The APSP was founded in October, 2008.

The International Socialist Organization consists of political parties from 270 countries. Only the Social Democratic Party is a member of the organization among Azerbaijani left parties.

Shahsuvarov said the APSP holds negotiations on the Georgian Labor party's joining the CIS Coordination Council of left parties.

"The first meeting of the new established council will be held in Moscow in September. Chairman of the party Rovshan Huseynov will attend the meeting. The Georgian Labor Party is interested in joining the council. Other representatives of the council, as well as our party want them to join the council. We hold negotiations on this issue. The Georgian party is likely to join the council. too," Shahsuvarov added.
