By accepting Madrid principles Armenia will finally tie up itself to Russia

15 July 2009 [14:16] - TODAY.AZ
“I am surprised with the fact that Armenia does not see how they will be tied up to Russia by implemention of Madrid principles on Karabakh settlement proposed by mediators,” political expert Mubariz Ahmadoglu said.
He said the railway from Moscow to Yerevan which passes through Baku that will be re-opened after return of the lowland areas of Karabakh will tie up Armenia with Russia thus finally depriving its from independence.

“There are conflicting views on essence of these principles in Turkey and Russia. Turkish observers believe that the Madrid principles are result of the games between Moscow and Baku in favor of Armenians. In Armenia there are positions fundamentally opposite about the Russian-Turkish-Azeri conspiracy against Armenia,” he said .

The political expert said the part of the text on future of the region does not mention any second Armenian state in the Caucasus. The “principles” only indicates peace and economic progress which expects the region in case of a peaceful settlement in Karabakh.

Referring to the peaceful coexistence of Armenians and Azerbaijanis in Nagorno-Karabakh, Ahmadoglu predicted realization of the peace plan option of Bosnia-Herzegovina.

“One representative will be elected from every 10,000 inhabitants of Karabakh who will sit in the government of autonomy, taking into account the representation of Azerbaijani community. Autonomy will be led by Azerbaijani and Armenian in rotation for 2.5 years each,” he said.
