Azerbaijan's opposition party against reduction in number of municipalities

The Great Creation Party does not support the idea of reducing the number of municipalities, said party chairman, MP Fazil Mustafa.
He said the status of local municipalities is too low.

"The reduction in municipalities might lead to conflicts. I think before taking such a step, it would be necessary to define the powers of local municipalities and broaden them.

Moreover, the functions of executive powers and municipalities should have been specified", noted Mustafa.
