Russian deputies are satisfied with the referendum in Azerbaijan.

According to the agency, during the April session of PACE deputy of the Russian State Duma Leonid Slutskiy announced that a very balanced report on results of voting held in Azerbaijan last month was introduced to the assembly.
The parliamentarian urged to pay attention to changes that occured in Azerbaijan starting from 2003. "The situation is being fully controlled in Azerbaijan and the role of parliament has grown significantly", considers deputy Slutskiy.
He also noted that Baku strives for high democratic standards of the Council of Europe. "We must encourage this and assist in the completion of the overall monitoring on Azerbaijan", said Slutski addressing his counterparts.
He noted that on the whole the March referendum in Azerbaijan can be assessed positively.
Notably, Leonid Slutski position was fully supported by his other colleagues from the Russian delegation.
