
A delegation of the Central Election Commission of Azerbaijan left for Kishinev Friday to observe elections in parliament of Moldova schedule for April 5 of 2009, CEC press service told Novosti-Azerbaijan. Reports say the delegation included member of commission Fuad Cavadov and chief of CEC department of international relations Rovzat Kasumov.
"Moldova has sent a due letter to CEC of Azerbaijan proposing to take part in observing elections. The delegation members will observe elections in Kishinev. A meeting with administration of Moldova's CEC is also envisioned during the visit", reports the press service.
The parliament is a supreme representative body of the people of Moldova and the only legislative power of the state. It involves 101 deputies.
The parliament is elected on the basis of equal and direct voting right in secret and free voting. The elections of the deputies of parliament are held no later than within three months after expiry of the term of powers or dismissal of the previous parliament.
