The opening of the Armenian-Turkish border will never serve the interests of Azerbaijan or be favorable for it, said speaker of parliament Oqtay Asadov at the session of the spring session of Milli Medjlis.
"Most political scientists and politicians of Azerbaijan try to voice the pluses and minuses of the opening of state border between Armenia and Turkey for our state. My personal opinion is that the opening of borders will not be favorable for Azerbaijan and does not serve our interests", noted he.
He said in the near future an international conference on this issue will be held in Baku with participation of political parties and parliament of Turkey.
"Also our women deputies received invitation from the Turkish parliament to visit Turkey for discussing this topic", said Asadov.
Deputy of Milli Medjlis, chairman of the Umid party Igbal Aghazade in turn voiced a proposal to hold a private session in the parliament, during which the deputies should be presented information about real state of affairs in the negotiation process on the peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict.
We want to know the positive and negative moments of the proposals of the mediators for Azerbaijan", noted he.
