Officials, representing railway companies of Iran, Russia and Azerbaijan, met in Saint-Petersburg, Russia on March 11.

The aim of the trilateral session became discussion of a joint cooperation and execution of the plan of the so-called North-South corridor.
The talks participants discussed cooperation of the three countries on development of carriages, roads, passing via Azerbaijan and connecting Russian railways with Iranian, as well as the creation of a joint consortium.
Moreover, the companies representatives discussed participation of the parties in the creation of the Kazvin-Resht-Enzeli-Astara (Iran) railroad as well as continuation of this line to the frontier Azerbaijani city of Astara and its connection with the single railway system of Russia.
