Russian Foreign Minister arrives in Baku - UPDATED

According to ANS-Press today Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov visited the Honor Alley and put a wreath to the memorial of Heydar Aliyev. According to it, the visitor is accompanied by Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov.

During a two-day visit, the Minister will hold several meetings in the country to discuss current level of the Russia-Azerbaijan relationship, prospects for bilateral cooperation as well as regional issues.

The meetings will also discuss implementation of the Declaration on Friendship and Strategic Partnership between Russia and Azerbaijan, signed on July 3, 2008.

As part of the visit, Lavrov will also participate in an opening ceremony of Russian Information and Culture Center.
