The Electoral Code fixes that the agitation campaign of the presidential candidates is regulated by the law on advertising, which creates certain indefiniteness in practice, said chairman of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council Nushirevan Meherremli.
He noted that under the law on advertising, the TV channels may demonstrate 12 minutes of commercials and at the same time 12 minutes of commercials can not be demonstrated in a single bloc.
"It means that 12 minutes of commercials per an hour, are divided into 3-4 parts, in the result of which each advertising unit lasts 3-4 minutes. Naturally, only advertisements of presidential candidates can fall under such a rule, while debates between them and the talk-shows with their participation can not be regulated by the law on advertising and all these issues should be settled by the TV channels", said Meherremli.
