President of Azerbaijan visits Salyan and Jalilabad regions

First of all he arrived in Salyan village and inaugurated the secondary school in Gardilli village during his trip to the Salyan province.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing the official opening of the school. He saw the photographs depicting the previous and present appearance of the school and reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s activity.

The 220-seat school has been provided with the modern heating system. There are 11 classrooms, 2 labs and 1 doctor`s office.

The Heydar Aliyev Foundation presented satchels, textbooks and other school supplies to schoolchildren.

The President viewed a classroom for first formers and Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s gifts. He praised the Foundation`s work and care for education development in Azerbaijan.

Azerbaijani leader also toured a gym, computer room and other facilities. The school library also received books. Heydar Aliyev Foundation provided the physics and chemistry labs with visual aids.

The Head of State praised conditions created in the school. He pledged the government would continue to care for education in the country. President Ilham Aliyev congratulated teaching staff on the beginning of the new school year.

Then President Aliyev also attended the inauguration of the Salyan Olympic Sport Complex on Sunday.

The complex has basketball and volleyball halls, swimming pool, 2000-seat football stadium, 264-seat mini-football stadium, tennis court and other facilities. The five-star hotel and cottages around the cottage were also built here.

President Ilham Aliyev cut the ribbon symbolizing official opening of the complex. He viewed a canteen, cottages, swimming pool, football pitch, boxing, wrestling halls. The President praised the work done here.

The President also saw the photo stand dedicated to national leader Heydar Aliyev. There are photographs reflecting national leader`s and President Ilham Aliyev`s care for sport as well as recent successes of Azerbaijani athletes.

Afterwards, the President made his remarks at the official ceremony.

The opening of the Salyan central hospital following a repair was also held on September 7.

Then Ilham Aliyev left for Jalilabad region.

The Head of State laid flowers at the monument to national leader Heydar Aliyev there.

On September 7 President Ilham Aliyev inaugurated the Heydar Aliyev Museum in Jalilabad.

The construction of the two-storey building began in second half of 2006 and ended in October 2007. The museum has photographs reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev`s lifetime and activity, and his visits in Jalilabad as well as his statements made during his career.

There are computer and administrative rooms as well as archive in the museum.

President Ilham Aliyev also viewed the Heydar Aliyev recreation and entertainment park in the center of Jalilabad city.
The construction of the park was completed in 2007. The park features a three-storey hotel, caf?, amphitheatre, cottages and other facilities.

The Head of State met here with Jalilabad residents.

The residents thanked the President for care and attention. They said Jalilabad is successfully developing since national leader Heydar Aliyev had always shown care for the region.

President Ilham Aliyev stressed socio-economic growth in Azerbaijan will continue and told of the rapid progress of the country. According to him, the country has solved problems thanks to Azerbaijan`s increasing capability.

The Head of State noted reconstruction work is going in Jalilabad region as well.

On the same day President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev visited the Zarifa Aliyeva secondary school in Jalilabad on Sunday.

The Head of State first laid flowers at the monument to renowned ophthalmologist Zarifa Aliyeva located in the school yard.

The 1100-seat school was built within the framework of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation`s New Schools to Renewing Azerbaijan program. The school was put into operation in September last year. The school has been provided with modern equipment. There is a photo stand in the foyer reflecting national leader Heydar Aliyev and President Ilham Aliyev`s activity.

The Head of State viewed the computer class. Then, the President proceeded to the photo stand dedicated to academician Zarifa Aliyeva.

President Ilham Aliyev familiarized himself with the library provided with Latin script books and Heydar Aliyev electronic library.

Azerbaijani Leader also toured classrooms, gym and other facilities.

After that Ilham Aliyev attended Sunday the inauguration of the pedestrian subway on the Heydar Aliyev Avenue in Jalilabad.
The Head of State highly assessed the fact that the national architectural style was used in construction of the subway. President Aliyev gave instructions to continue reconstruction work in the surrounding areas.

Later President Ilham Aliyev inspected construction of the diagnostic and treatment center in Jalilabad on Sunday. Construction began in 2007.

The center will be provided with the up-to-date equipment.

President Ilham Aliyev gave instructions to carry out high-level construction work here.

On the same day, Ilham Aliyev inspected construction of the modern Olympic Sport Complex in Jalilabad.

The complex will have gyms, swimming pool, hotel and cottages. It will be the venue for international and local competitions.

President Ilham Aliyev saw the design of the complex and got familiarized with the construction work.

The complex will give a boost to sport development in Jalilabad.

The Head of State said gave instructions to complete construction in timely manner and carry out high-quality work.
