Austria is considering possible opening of its embassies in the capitals of Georgia and Azerbaijan - Tbilisi and Baku, said Austrian Foreign Minister Ursula Plassnik at an informal meeting of the Foreign Ministers of 27 EU states, in Avignon (France).
"I am going to study possible opening of Austrian embassies in Tbilisi and Baku. It is now high time for it", said she.
"We have political and economic interests in the Caucasus", said Plassnik, "It is time to check it in practice: to open our embassies in Tbilisi, Baku and, probably, Yerevan".
Currently, the diplomatic mission of Austria in Georgia, Azerbaijan and Armenia is conducted from Vienna, reports ITAR-TASS.
