Hungarian embassy will open in Baku in late October, reports Day.Az with reference to AzerTac.

Katalin Szili, speaker of Hungarian parliament, visiting Azerbaijan, noted that the opening of the Hungarian embassy in Baku will play an important role in the comprehensive development of relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary.

Elmar Mammadyarov, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister, has received the delegation led by Speaker of Hungarian Parliament Katalin Szili, the Foreign Ministry Press Service told APA. The Minister spoke about regional conflicts and stressed that Nagorno Karabakh problem impeded the development of the whole region, not only Azerbaijan.

"International actors and community should be systematic in such sensitive issues and demonstrate principal position. Recent developments in South Caucasus proved that the conflicts posed a significant threat to Europe as well. We support solution to such conflicts within the territorial integrity of the countries and international legal norms and hope for support of Hungary in this issue”, he said. Other issues of mutual concern were also in the focus of attention at the meeting.

Being an active participant or initiator of global projects, Azerbaijan at the same time supports the EU Nabucco gas project, said Milli Medjlis speaker Oqtay Asadov during the meeting with his Hungarian counterparty Katalin Szili, reports Novosti-Azerbaijan with reference to the press service for the Azerbaijani parliament.

The meeting between Asadov and Szili was held in Baku on Friday. Asadov noted that the visit of the Hungarian delegation to Baku will have a positive influence on the further expansion and development of bilateral relations.

"Hungary's experience is important for Azerbaijan, which chose way of integration to the Euroatlantic space", said the Milli Medjlis chairman.

Touching upon the bilateral relations, Asadov said that there is a good potential for expanding it and voiced regret that the current relations do not reflect this potential.

"19 documents were signed between the two countries for creation of normal relations. These documents create a trustful legal basis for development of bilateral relations. There are wide opportunities for cooperation between the two countries in the sphere of food and pharmacological industry, tourism and transport", said Asadov.

Touching upon the regional security and situation in the South Caucasus region, Asadov noted that Nagorno Karabakh conflict creates obstacles not only for Azerbaijan but for the entire region.

"Therefore, international organizations and world society should demonstrate principal position and be consistent in such sensitive issues. The recent events in the South Caucasus proved once again how dangerous the conflicts in the region are for Europe. We are for the resolution of such conflicts in the framework of international law and on the basis of principles of territorial integrity of the countries and we hope for Hungary's support in these issues", said Asadov.

In turn, speaker of Hungarian parliament highly appreciated the role of the legislative body in development of bilateral relations. She stressed great role of direct contacts of the due interparliamentary commissions for deepening of these relations in the economic, humanitarian and cultural spheres.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev received a delegation, led by chairman of Hungarian parliament Katalin Szili, reports Day.Az with reference to the official website of the Azerbaijani President.

During the meeting, the sides stressed successful development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary and noted great potential for interparliamentary cooperation. The sides voiced confidence that the current visit of the Hungarian delegation will contribute to further strengthening of cooperation between the countries.

Speaker of Hungarian Parliament Katalin Szili highly assesses the level of existing bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Hungary, including on the level of parliaments.

"In the framework of the visit we will discuss development of bilateral relations, regional security, energy policy of Azerbaijan", she told reporters Friday, according to Novosti-Azerbaijan.

Szili stressed existence of group of Azerbaijan-Hungary friendship in the parliaments of both countries and readiness to expand the bilateral relations.

The Hungarian speaker is paying a three day official visit to Baku.

She plans to meet with her Azerbaijani counterpart, MM speaker Oqtay Asadov.

During the meeting the sides will discuss prospects of development of bilateral cooperation on the level of parliaments, cooperation in international organizations and regions issues, including Nagorno Karabakh.

Moreover, in the framework of the visit to Baku Szili will also meet with Premier Artur Rasizade, Minister of Economic Development Heydar Babayev, Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov and President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.

The speaker of the Hungarian parliament will hold a number of other meetings in Milli Medjlis. Szili's visit to Azerbaijan will last until September 7.
