Vasili Istratov: "Issue of two villages in the North-East of Azerbaijan is beyond the talks on delimitation of borders with Russia"

The ambassador noted that agreement on one or two moments has not been reached yet.

"Presidents decided that it is necessary to instruct experts to prepare proposals on the solution of these issues. Both sides are willing to settle this issue. Another issus is that the positions of the two countries failed to coincide.  On the other side, both countries are aware of the need to find the way out. This is not the issue which can be neglected for a long period of time", said Istratov.

At the same time, the ambassador noted that the situation with two villages in the North-East of Azerbaijan is beyond the talks on delimitation of borders, therefore, it was not discussed during the meeting of the two presidents in Baku.

"These villages are in the territory of Azerbaijan. The issue can be considered exhausted", said the Russian ambassador.
