PACE president: "PACE may appoint special rapporteur on political prisoners in Azerbaijan in September"

If the situation with political rights in Azerbaijan does not improve, PACE may appoint special rapporteur on political prisoners in September, said PACE president Lluis Maria de Puig, visiting Baku.
He noted that before that there have been requests regarding expediency of appointing PACE special rapporteur on the problem of political prisoners in Azerbaijan.

"Everything will depend on results of my visit. I have held and will hold talks with officials of Azerbaijan. The decision will be adopted in case situation does not change after my visit", said he.
