Vasili Istratov: "Russia will play a constructive role in the resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict"

"Ways of resolution of Nagorno Karabakh conflict will be discussed during the meeting of Presidents of Azerbaijan and Russia Ilham Aliyev and Dmitri Medvedev in Baku", said Russian ambassador to Azerbaijan Vasili Istratov at a press conference today.

He said the OSCE Minsk Group has recently made active efforts for restoration of contacts between the sides.

"Russia is not the only mediator. There are three co-chairing countries in the Minsk Group and they act in cooperation. Considering historical, economic and cultural ties with the South Caucasus countries, Russia will play a constructive role for the resolution of the conflict", said he.
