The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan held its regular session today, reports Day.Az with reference to the press service for the party.
As is reported during the session the party discussed the sociopolitical situation in the country before presidential elections.

The session considered situation, which established in the country after the President adopted the recent amendments to the Electoral Code and the draft law "On freedom of Assembly".

The party considers that the recent PACE resolution, which states deterioration of situation in the sphere of human rights in Azerbaijan before presidential elections, as well as pressure on media, evidences that national interests of our countries have been violated. In order to avert such negative consequences, Azerbaijani government should display political tolerance.

In this connection it is necessary to consider issue of replacement of the representatives of the said organization.

It was also decided to hold the session of Supreme Medjlis on August 1. During it the party will reconsider the decision about participation in the presidential elections.
