Issue of Azerbaijan's NATO membership is currently not on the agenda, said Robert Simmons, special representative of NATO secretary general on South Caucasus and Central Asia at the press conference on the outcomes of his visit to Azerbaijan.

He noted that according to the Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Azerbaijan intends to be maximally closer to the alliance by means of individual partnership actions plan.
"If at any stage of cooperation Azerbaijan decides to join NATO, the experience of cooperation on the individual partnership actions plan will be very useful in this issue", said Simmons.
Drawing parallels with other CIS states, Simmons said that unlike Ukraine and Georgia, Azerbaijan has not voiced intention to join NATO.
