Musavat party has presented the resolution of the picket of activists in front of the Baku major's office.

Party chairman Arij Hajili told Day.Az that the resolution states rude violation of the law "On freedom of assembly" by the major's office through rejecting to provide them opportunities for holding the action.

In line with article 49 of the Constitution, each citizen has a right for freedom of assembly, yet the major's office has violated this right, says the document, adopted by the party.

16 activists of Musavat party, detained in Baku today, have been released, said party chairman Arif Hajili.

He said they had previously been informed that the number of the detained was 13 people, yet they learned later that another three persons were detained by the police.

"They were also warned and released", noted he.

Musavat opposition party held a picket in front of the Baku major's office today, said party chairman Arif Hajili.

He said the action involved 50 people with 13 of them detained by the police.

"They are currently in the 9th Sabail district police station. Among them are chairman of the youth organization of the Musavat party Tural Abbasly, chairman of Sabail district organization Huseyn Melikov, chairman of Khatai organization Mustafa Hajibeyli, deputy chairman of youth organization Ahad Mamedli and others.

The party considers that despite the pressure of the police, the action did take place", noted he.

It should be noted that the action participants chanted "Freedom to democratic elections", "Freedom of Assembly" and so on.
