Democratic Party of Azerbaijan calls for wide amnesty

The Democratic Party of Azerbaijan assesses the decree to pardon political prisoners, passed by the President of Azerbaijan, as a demonstration of humanism towards the people.

The due announcement was made by the press service for the party.

The Democratic Party, however, voices regret that the list of pardoned did not include prisoners and separate political prisoners who should also be released.

"The fact that these people have not yet been released, causes serious damage to Azerbaijan. The image of our country in the eyes of international organizations is not too positive, therefore, our party requests to hold wide amnesty in the near future", the press service said.
