Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry investigating circumstances of Azerbaijani soldier's capturing by Armenians - UPDATED

Circumstances under which the Azerbaijani army soldier has been captured are unclear yet.

The due announcement was made by spokesman for Azerbaijan's Defense Ministry Eldar Sabiroglu.

He noted that the investigation of the case is currently being held.

Sabiroglu announced that the community will be informed about the circumstances of the event.

At the same time, the spokesman for the Defense Ministry noted that they contact the due international organizations regarding this issue.

Parents of Azerbaijani soldier Yagub Allahverdi oglu Mukhtarov, captured by Armenian armed forces, are currenly in the military division, he serves at.

According to APA, Allahyar Mukhtarov, the captured soldier's uncle, said an officer from the division his nephew serves, came to them on March 9 and asked the parents where their son is. The parents said Yagub had not come home. In three days they heard that their son was captured by Armenians.

"Today, Yagub Mukhtarov's parents left for the division he is serving at. They were told there that in March 8 their son was let home. He is supposed to be captured by Armenians by some unknown reasons", Mukhtarov announced.

He said the military enlistment office of Sheki did not explain the situation to parents.

It should be noted that Yagub Mukhtarov was recruited by the Sheki region military enlistment office in October of 2007.

The press service for the Azerbaijani representation of the International Committee of the Red Cross told APA that they have information on the issue.

The Committee has been informed about the fact of capturing by the due State Commission of Azerbaijan.

It was noted that the Committee representatives will visit the captured soldier and monitor his detainment conditions and state.

A source in the State Commission for War Prisoners, Hostages and Missing People confirmed that the Azerbaijani serviceman was captured by Armenians.

The secretary of the State Commission Shakhin Sayilov announced that the commission has already started work for return of the captured soldier to Azerbaijan.

According to PanARMENIAN.Net, reporting with reference to spokesman for Armenian Defense Minister colonel Seyran Shakhsuvaryan, the captured is Yagub Alaverdi oglu Mukhtarov.

As is reported, the soldier left the squadron on March 9. Shakhsuvaryan states that the reason of his quitting the post were the relations, not envisioned by regulations.

Armenian press announced that Yagub Mukhratov is from Sheki, born in 1988, education secondary, studies at the transport technical school.
