President of Azerbaijan to pay official visit to Iran

The due announcement was made by Iranian ambassador to Azerbaijani Nasir Khamidi Zari Monday, Novosti-Azerbaijan reports.

The diplomat noted that a number of mutual visits on the high level are planned for 2008. Iranian and Azerbaijani Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Agriculture, Transport, Medicine, Trade, Energy, will pay visits to Baku and Tehran within a year.

It is planned to sign a number of bilateral agreements in agricultural, transport, medical, commercial, energy and other spheres between Azerbaijan and Iran during the visits.

Zari said Azerbaijan's Foreign Minister Elmar Mamedyarov will pay an official visit to Iran within the next two months. The visit of Milli Medjlis speaker Oktay Asadov to Tehran is also planned for the near future.
