List of Azerbaijani candidates for position of judge in European Court of Human Rights sent to Strasburg

According to Chingiz Askerov, spokesman for the Azerbaijani government in the European court, the candidacies will be considered at the PACE January session.

It should be reminded that the Judicial Council nominated  three candidates for position of a judge: the judge of the European Court Khanlar Gadjiyev, the judge of the Azizbeyov district Rashad Gasanov and the judge of the Nasimi district Aygun Abdullayeva.

The PACE Subcommittee on Judicial Selection had previously decided to return the list of candidates for position of a judge  to Azerbaijan due to the violation of the principle of equal rights of candidates.
