He said that freedom of expression is not in danger in Azerbaijan.
"Some international media institutions claim on deteriorated media situation in the country basing on the reports by local journalists. But this is not so. We can not support when a journalist confuses freedom of media with violation of law. Every citizen must comply with laws," he said.
Ali Hasanov said that Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan newspapers can restore their publication.
"They can operate freely. They have to comply with the legislation," he said.
Hasanov regarded the critical remarks by PACE co-rapporteur Andres Herkel on the Azerbaijani government as subjective.
"We honor all the commitments before the Council of Europe and respect the resolutions," he said. APA
