MP Huseyn Abdullayev stops hunger strike

Azerbaijani parliamentarian Huseyn Abdullayev, who is kept in treatment center of Justice Ministry, has stopped hunger strike.

Elchin Behbudov, head of Azerbaijan Committee against Torture told the APA Abdullayev started hunger strike because of the doctor continued to treat him.

"MP demanded his doctor Mahir Dumanov, who treated him in the Central Clinical Hospital, to come to the treatment center. His demand was satisfied, so, he stopped the strike."

Behbudov also said the parliamentarian denies the charge and says he supports President Ilham Aliyev's political course.

The rights activist is going to appeal to president of Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Parliamentarian Mehriban Aliyeva for the release of Abdullayev.

Kamandar Nasibov, lawyer for Abdullayev confirmed Abdullayev's stopping the hunger strike and being cured.

MP Abdullayev was detained for the incident at parliament sitting in March, 2007. His parliamentary immunity was annulled.
