Azeri PM to attend Yeltsin's funeral

A national day of mourning has been declared in Russia on the death of the first Russian President Boris Yeltsin. State flags will be lowered and cultural events will be postponed. The government advised the TV channels to postpone entertaining programs.

Boris Yeltsin, died at the age of 77 will be buried at Novodevichy Cemetery near the graves of Raisa Gorbachova, wife of the first president of USSR Mikhail Gorbachov and Alexander Lebed, former governor of Krasnoyarsk province.

Officials of different states are expected to attend the funeral. Former US presidents Bill Clinton and George Bush senior, German president Horst Koehler, Armenian President Robert Kocharian, Kazakhstan's president Nursultan Nazarbayev, Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Estonian president Toomas Hendrik Ilves, Lithuanian president Valdas Adamkus, Ukrainian Prime Minister Victor Yanukovich, Tajikistan's Prime Minister Akil Akilov, former Prime Minister of Canada Jean Chretien, former presidents of Poland, Lithuania and Latvia Lech Walesa, Algirdas Brazauskas and Guntis Ulmanis will attend the funeral.

The Cabinet press service told the APA that Azerbaijan's Prime Minister Arthur Rasizade will attend the funeral.
