OSCE Office in Baku 2006 budget amounted to euro 1.733mln

OSCE published its 2006 annual report today. OSCE Central Office in Vienna told 112-page report reviews OSCE Offices' activity in the member-states and the chronicle of its cooperation with several international organizations.

The report prepared by OSCE Secretary General Marc Perrin Brichambaut threw light to some positive moments in the OSCE's activity and stresses the investigation of causes of fires in Nagorno-Karabakh and other occupied regions of Azerbaijan.

The section on Azerbaijan focuses attention on the projects carried out in the country. It particularly states that OSCE Office in Baku has fulfilled three-stage programme on training of police. Moreover, OSCE Office in Baku held two training courses on the freedom of expression.

Last year Baku Office established anti-corruption centers in different regions of Azerbaijan and monitored ecological condition of the rivers, APA reports.

The projects of OSCE Baku Office in 2006 include monitoring of court cases, issues of presumption of innocence, violation cases as well as organization of events on gender and trafficking. OSCE Baku Office‘s budget amounted to ?1.733mln.last year.
