Turkey's Environment Minister in Baku

"Potable water resources are very important in regard to the future of the world," said Turkish Environment & Forestry Minister Osman Pepe in a meeting with Azerbaijani Ecology & Natural Resources Minister Huseyngulu Bagirov in Baku.

Stating that all countries should focus on the area of potable water, Pepe stressed, "2 billion people don`t have potable water in the world."

In regard to bilateral relations between Turkey and Azerbaijan, Pepe noted that there were joint projects in the areas of environment, forestry and meteorology.

On the other hand, Bagirov remarked that they wanted to cooperate with Turkey in regard to construction of refining plants.

The ministers inaugurated the Baku representation of Turkish-made "ArmaTrac" tractors. Pepe said that Azerbaijan's using these tractors will contribute to development of commerce between the two countries.

Within the scope of his talks in Baku, Pepe was also received by Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev.
