Serdar Jalaloglu-led ADP dismisses Rasul Guliyev

19 February 2007 [23:11] - TODAY.AZ
Serdar Jalaloglu-led Azerbaijan Democrat Party (ADP) made a decision on Rasul Guliyev's dismissal from the ADP.

He said that Rasul Guliyev was dismissed from the party for abuse of power, causing separation and quarrel within the party, disrespect to the party Rules.

"This happened because of Rasul Guliyev's personal faults. The member of the Organizing Committee Talat Aliyev called Rasul Guliyev to inform him of my refusal the chairmanship to Organizing Committee and candidacy to chairmanship. But Rasul Guliyev's answer was severe. He treated me as his servant," he said.

Jalaloglu said that decision was made on removing Zamina Dunyamaliyeva, Solmaz Aleskerova, Yagub Abbasov and Jale Jafarova from the party.

He said that the case of the members of Rasul Guliyev-led ADP will be considered in the region organizations. Jalaloglu said that holding a meeting of Supreme Assembly in Classic Popular Front Party's office is illegal and contradicts the Rules.

He said that only several members of the party close to Rasul Guliyev tried to hold an assembly.

"Rasul Guliyev called some region organizations and said that we supported YAP's candidate and decided to join YAP. 42 district organizations from 62 appealed to us and stated they boycotted the meeting and they are with us," he said.

"Rasul Guliyev, Aydin Guluyev and Akif Shahbazov have nothing to do with ADP now. They are of YAP origin. They didn't join democrats in ADP but operated in groups," he noted.

"When I stated to run for chairmanship in the congress, I noticed that Rasul Guliyev is afraid because only 200 congress members of 600 had supported him in the last elections. He had no alternative then," he said.

Jalaloglu stated that media outlets introducing the opposite side as ADP will be sued. He said that he has party seal, certificate and all other official documents.

Akif Shahbazov told APA that Serdar Jalaloglu shouldn't be expected to make more clever decision.

"Such decision has no analogue in world or Azerbaijani policy. There hasn't been in world practice that a group of persons would dismiss the chairman elected by the congress. They have no right to speak for the Organizing Committee. Such decision causes just laughter," he said. APA
