President meets with representatives of youth organizations on Youth Day

The Head of the state congratulated Azerbaijani youth on the holiday, APA reports.

Noting that the youth day was founded by Heydar Aliyev the president said he paid special attention to the youth. The president stressed the importance of their being educated, devoted to their motherland.

"I am sure that hundreds of Azeri youths will study in famous education institutions of the world, be good specialists and do their best for the development of our country. We want Azerbaijan to develop," he said.

The President said that Azerbaijan has rich resources and geographical position.

"But in order to be a developed country, there should a lot of educated people. Our aim is to strengthen our country, its position in the region and to fulfill all tasks," he said.

Noting that the majority of those who serve in the army are youth, the president said they defend our country.

"They defend our country and strengthen it. If necessary they will take first step to liberate Azerbaijani territories.

President Ilham Aliyev said that all necessary political and diplomatic measures have been taken for the settlement Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict and stressed that they have gained enough achievement in this field.

"Because of unconstructive position of opposite side, we can not solve this problem yet. Whole world community, UN, and other organizations recognize the territorial integrity of Azerbaijan and want the conflict to be solved on territorial integrity principle. This is our great diplomatic success. Armenians violate all international norms, do not observe international behaviour rules and consider that "status–quo" situation will continue. It has frames and limits. Increasing economic, political and military power and support of international organizations strengthens our position. I want peaceful solution to the conflict. But we should be ready for other situations. We do not only develop economically and politically, but also improvements can be observed in military sphere. To have strong army means to liberate our lands any time. We hope for soon settlement of the conflict. Time works for us," the President said.

At the end of speech the president congratulated the youths again. Youths and Sport minister Azad Rehimov and representatives of youths' organizations made speech in the ceremony.
