The Committee for the Defense of Farhad and Rafig Aliyevs appeals to embassies and OSCE Office

As to APA reports, the Aliyevs were in custody groundlessly and their rights are being violated.

The appeal says that Farhad Aliyev was the famous figures of the Power and a member of the Political Council of the YAP.

"He said some months before his arrest that an attempt was made to kill him but the law-enforcement bodies didn't document the fact and called it self-advertisement. Until the official sentence and decision, the officials called him "offender" and affected the investigation. Describing him as an offender in the media broke the presumption of innocence. He is not well and transferred to the Justice Ministry Treatment Department, but his health deteriorated sharply. He asked for his being transferred to the isolated ward of the Ministry of National Security but in vain. He didn’t give any testimony and statement but attempts were made to confront him with others."

The appeal also reads that Farhad Aliyev's family is being persecuted

"His brother, Rafig Aliyev, was arrested on change of contraband. 140 of his relatives have been fired from their job. The doubtful death of ex-official of the Economic Development Ministry, Alihuseyn Shaliyev, poses a threat to the life of Farhad Aliyev.
We ask you to help make clear the issue concerning Farhad Aliyev, taking into consideration the facts."
