Elmar Mammadyarov receives Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Grigori Karasin

APA was told by the press service of Ministry of Foreign Affairs that, E.Mammadyarov highly appreciated the relations between the two countries and said that further development of these relations is necessary. He said that Russia is one of major adherents of Azerbaijan in political, trade-economic and humanitarian fields. Russian Deputy Minister G.Karasin said that relations between Azerbaijan and Russia in economic, cultural, and other fields have been intensified and came into other stage in recent years. He mentioned celebration of Russian Year in Azerbaijan in current year and said that Russian president Vladimir Putin will also participate in the opening ceremony.

Then Elmar Mammadyarov informed the guest of work done to achieve resolution of Azerbaijan-Armenian conflict, existing socio-political situation in the country, reforms, Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan oil pipeline, development of non-oil sector and other issues.

Exchange of views was also held on process in the region, negotiations on determination of legal status of Caspian Sea, delimitation of the borders between Azerbaijan and Russia, intensification of the efficiency of CIS and other issues of mutual concern.
