Ilham Aliyev states that "orange revolution" has no chances in Azerbaijan

"There is no conditions for an orange revolution in Azerbaijan. I stated it even before the elections and the November 6 poll anew confirmed the loyalty of the Azerbaijani people to the policy of the ruling party," said Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in his address to newly elected deputies of the Parliament.

Definite preconditions, in particular, gap between the authorities and the people, strong opposition and decisive oppositionist leader, are required for a replacement in state power to occur. At the same time according to the President there is no serious social situation in the country that could ignite the revolt.

Aliyev said that the economic potential of the country consolidated year by year, in particular, over the past 10 months the economic growth has attained 23%. The budget grew 67% and comprised $4 billions and by 2006 it is planned to open 300,000 new jobs.

The President noted that the wages and scholarships were increased and people of Azerbaijan reap the fruits of the economic growth of the country.
