62 local and 130 foreign journalists received accreditation in CEC

Up to date 130 foreign journalists have been registered in the Central Election Commission (CEC)

Foreign media organs and their representatives intending to observe the elections are the followings: “BBC (Moscow representation) – 5 persons, “CBS News” TV-company of USA – 6 persons, ARD TV of Germany – 19 persons, “Al-Jazeera” TV – 5 persons, “CBC” Canada State Television – 3 persons, “TBS” TV and Radio company of Japan – 4 persons, Moscow bureau of “Eurovision” – 5 persons, “Dubai” TV – 1 person, TRT (Baku representation) – 6 persons, Channel 5 (Ukraine) – 2 persons, First channel (Russia) – 11 persons, All-Russian State Television and Radio Broadcasting Company – 7 persons, “Khabar” TV of Kazakhstan – 1 person, Public Television of Georgia – 2 persons, “RFI” International French Radio – 1 person, Reuters – 18 persons, Anadolu Agency (Turkey) – 1 person, Ihlas Haber Agency (Turkey) – 4 persons, ITAR-TASS – 5 persons, “GPD” Press Association of Netherlands – 1 person, Associated Press – 8 persons, Inter (Ukraine) – 2 persons, “New York Times” paper (USA) – 5 persons, “The Daily Telegraph” paper (Great Britain) – 1 person, “China Youth Daily” paper (China) – 1 person, “El-Pais” paper (Spain) – 1 person, “DIE WELT” paper (Germany) – 1 person, “NRC Handelsblad” paper (Holland) – 1 person, “Azerros” paper (Russia) – 2 persons, “Oqonyok” paper – 1 person.

In spite of the great interest of the foreign media to the elections, representatives of the Azerbaijani press do not show such a serious interest in observing the elections. Only 62 journalists from 15 local mass media organs have appealed to CEC so far.
