The “Tripartite” bloc held a march-meeting in Baku city yesterday.
The march started from the front of the “20 January” metro station continued to the front of the “Galaba” cinema.
The head of the Baku office of OSCE Maurizio Pavesi, the representatives of the National Democracy Institute and the associates of the USA embassy observed the meeting.
The participants of the action held in their hands the “Liberal elections”, ‘Resignation”, ‘No for corruption” slogans and the pictures of the editor-in-chief of the “Monitor” journal Elmar Huseynov, Mammedamin Rasulzade and Abulfaz Elchibay. The ADP members joining the meeting held in their arms the pictures of the chairman of the party Rasul Guliyev, and the members of Musavat party held in their hands the picture of the USA president George Bush which was written “We demand democracy”. The deputy-chairman of ADP Hasrat Rustamov opened the meeting with his preamble. Then the deputy-chairman of PFPA (r) Fuad Mustafayev, the former chairman of ANP (National Party of Azerbaijan) Panah Huseyn , the chairman of the AMAL Intellectual Movement Khalid Alimirzayev, the chairman of the Umid Party Igbal Agazade, the chairman of the Executive Committee of ALP Avaz Temirkhan made their speech. We should note that, the 1st deputy of the ADP chairman Sardar Jalaloglu did not join the action as he was in Nakhchivan. The chairman of the Supreme Majlis of ADP Akif Shahbazov informed in his speech that it was of no significance to hold a dialogue with the government. Therefore, people should express their dissatisfaction only in the streets. He said that the authority would not hold free election.
The leader of Musavat Isa Gambar called the people to struggle in his speech. The Musavat leader also stated the importance of uniting of all opposition powers together. PFPA (r) chief Ali Karimli announced the time of the next meeting of “Tripartite” to the participants of meeting. He said the next march-meeting to be held on June 18 in front of “Galaba” cinema.
The chief of the police department of Yasamal district Shahlar Pashayev said in his explanation given to the journalists that no incident had taken place during the meeting. According to his words, the associates of the Police Department of Yasamal District were mobilized for realizing the security measures.
The chief of the police said that the participants of the meeting had not violated any rule and informed that more than 3 thousand persons had participated in the action. We should note that the meeting was also observed by the right protectors and the representatives of the diplomatic corps of the foreign countries. According to the information given to APA from the Main Board of Police of Baku city, no cases of tranquility and rights’ disordering were allowed to take place in the meeting lasted 2 hours.
