Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev received a group of participants of the Baku-hosted Subregional Workshop on Data and Statistics for Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) for High-Level Official Statisticians and the 57th meeting of the Council of Heads of Statistical Services of CIS member countries on May 31, Azertac reported.
Senior officials from the UN Statistical Institute for Asia and the Pacific, CIS Interstate Statistics Committee, Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), Statistical, Economic and Social Research and Training Centre for Islamic Countries(SESRIC), and statistical agencies of Germany, Belarus, Bulgaria. Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Mongolia, Uzbekistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Turkey are participating in the two-day subregional workshop.
Entitled "Conducting a coordinated policy in the field of standardization, metrology and certification for 25 years", the 57th meeting is attended by senior officials of CIS standardization agencies as well as representatives of relevant international organizations.
The three-day event focuses on a number of issues, including the expansion of trade relations between the CIS countries, elimination of technical barriers to trade, mutual recognition in the areas of technical regulation, standardization and accreditation.
