Ilham Aliyev offers condolences to Iranian president

Azerbaijan’s President Ilham Aliyev offered condolences to Iran’s President Hassan Rouhani over heavy casualties caused by a railway crash in the country.

“I was deeply saddened by the news of casualties caused by a railway crash in Semnan province,” the president said.

“On behalf of the people of Azerbaijan and on my own behalf, I extend my deep condolences to you, the families and loved ones of those who died and the people of Iran, and wish the injured soonest recovery,” the president added. “May Allah rest the souls of the dead in peace!”
