A dinner reception has been hosted on behalf of President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva in honor of Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak and his wife Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.

After the meeting in an expanded format, on Sept. 12 the ceremony of signing Azerbaijani-Malaysian documents was held.

“Joint Declaration on friendly relations and partnership between the Republic of Azerbaijan and Malaysia” was signed by President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak.

“Memorandum of Understanding between the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic and Petroliam Nasional Berhad company of Malaysia on cooperation in oil and gas sectors” was signed by President of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic Rovnag Abdullayev and President and Group Chief Executive Officer of Petroliam Nasional Berhad company Tan Sri Dato Shamsul Azhar Abbas.

“Memorandum of Understanding between the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan (represented by ADA University of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) and the Government of Malaysia (represented by Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs) on cooperation in the field of training of diplomats” was signed by Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan and rector of ADA University Hafiz Pashayev and Director General of Institute of Diplomacy and Foreign Relations of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Malaysia Dato Hussin Nayan.

President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak on Sept. 12 have held a one-on-one meeting.

During the meeting, the sides expressed their satisfaction with the development of bilateral relations on various fronts. It was noted that there was good potential for the expansion of ties between the two countries. The importance of the Malaysian Prime Minister’s visit to Azerbaijan was emphasized. The parties expressed their confidence that the relations between the countries would continue to develop.

The sides also exchanged views on international affairs and other issues of mutual interest.

An official welcoming ceremony for Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak, who is paying an official visit to the Republic of Azerbaijan, has been held.

A guard of honor was arranged for the Malaysian Prime Minister in a square decorated with national flags of the two countries.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev.
President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev and his wife Mehriban Aliyeva welcomed Prime Minister of Malaysia Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak and his spouse Datin Paduka Seri Rosmah Mansor.
The wife of the Malaysian Premier was presented with a bouquet of flowers.

The chief of the guard of honor reported to the Prime Minister of Malaysia.

National anthems of Malaysia and Azerbaijan were played.

President Ilham Aliyev and Prime Minister Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak reviewed the guard of honor.

The Premier of Malaysia saluted Azerbaijani soldiers.

State and government officials of Azerbaijan were introduced to Prime Minister Mohammad Najib Tun Abdul Razak and members of the Malaysian delegation were introduced to President Ilham Aliyev.

The guard of honor marched in front of the Azerbaijani President and the Malaysian Prime Minister to the accompaniment of a military march.
