President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received former Bulgarian President Georgi Parvanov.

During the meeting, they said relations between Azerbaijan and Bulgaria were developing successfully in a variety of fields. They noted there were good opportunities for expanding bilateral cooperation even more.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received a delegation led by the Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Bai Lichen.

The President spoke about friendly relations between Azerbaijan and China, hailed bilateral cooperation between the two states in various fields.

The Head of State emphasized that many Chinese companies have shown their interest in carrying out big projects in Azerbaijan’s different sectors. The President hailed Chinese-Azerbaijani cooperation in energy sector adding there are good opportunities for cooperation in transport area as well.

President Ilham Aliyev said the visit of Chinese delegation led by Bai Lichen to Azerbaijan will contribute to the strengthening of the existing friendly relations between Azerbaijan and the People’s Republic of China.

Vice-Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference Bai Lichen, in turn, extended Chinese President Hu Jintao’s and China’s Communist Party General Secretary Xi Jinping’s greetings to the President Ilham Aliyev.

He said great opportunities exist to expand bilateral relationship between the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference and the Milli Majlis (Parliament) of Azerbaijan.

President Ilham Aliyev asked Bai Lichen to convey his greetings to Chinese President and General Secretary of the China’s Communist Party.

President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has today received member of the British Parliament Nick de Bois.

Nick de Bois conveyed greetings of British Prime Minister David Cameron to the Head of State.
He also handed over the British PM`s letter to President Ilham Aliyev. In his letter, David Cameron praised bilateral relations between the United Kingdom and Azerbaijan.

The PM also touched upon issues related to expansion of the bilateral cooperation in the fields of non-oil, business and trade fields even further. Nick de Bois said David Cameron considers Azerbaijan as an important partner for the UK. He recalled a meeting between the British PM and President Ilham Aliyev during the London Olympic Games.

The member of the British Parliament stressed the importance of achievements of Azerbaijani athletes in the Olympic Games.

Nick de Bois also conveyed David Cameron`s congratulations to President Ilham Aliyev on the occasion of Azerbaijan`s winning the right to hold first European Games in 2015. The British MP expressed confidence the first European Games would be held successfully in Baku.

The Head of State also recalled a meeting with David Cameron during the London Olympic Games.

The President noted Azerbaijan and the UK enjoy long-term historical relationship. The Head of State said bilateral cooperation between the two countries was developing successfully.

President Ilham Aliyev expressed confidence bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and the UK would continue to strengthen in various directions, including political, economic, energy and security fields.

The Azerbaijani leader asked Nick de Bois to deliver his greetings to the British Prime Minister.
