'Opening of Spanish Embassy in Baku will enhance mutually beneficial cooperation'

As earlier reported, the Azerbaijani delegation headed by the Deputy Prime Minister of Azerbaijan, Chairman of the State Committee on Refugees and IDPs Ali Hasanov is visiting Madrid.

During the visit, Hasanov met with Vice-President of the Spanish Senate Juan Jose Lucas.
The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Spain Altay Efendiyev, Head of Department for Refugees, internally displaced persons, migration of the Cabinet of Ministers Gurban Sadigov, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Sevinj Hasanova, head of the Azerbaijani delegation to Euronest PA, MP Elkhan Suleymanov, director of the Social Development Fund of forced immigrants Ayaz Orujov, MPs Gudrat Hasanguliyev, Fazil Mustafa, Faraj Guliyev, Ayaz Orujov, Zahid Oruj and Jeyhun Osmanli.

Speaking of the importance of strengthening bilateral relations, Hasanov touched upon cooperation in the energy sector, noting that the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan Republic - SOCAR could open its offices and subsidiaries in Spain.

Bringing to the attention that businessman from many European countries work in Azerbaijan, the Deputy Prime Minister said that Spanish experts could also operate in Azerbaijan. Therefore, the opening of the Spanish Embassy in Azerbaijan will enhance mutually beneficial cooperation.

Speaking of the need to promote economic cooperation, Ali Hasanov brought to the attention that Azerbaijan has become a country investor, investing in various sectors of the economy outside the country.
