Azerbaijani opposition seeks to create united team

14 August 2012 [16:12] - TODAY.AZ
Until the election of a single candidate it's necessary to create a united team and program, the chairman of the Democratic Party of Azerbaijan (DPA) believes.

"Election of a single candidate isn't enough to unite the various opposition forces," DPA chairman Sardar Jalaloglu told Trend on Tuesday.

In his view, a single candidate ensures interests of one person, so to believe that the union, in which the interests of other parties are expressed in vague form, will reach great success, is impossible.

"In this regard, we believe that nominating a single candidate is not enough, we must have a united team. But a united team is not enough, a single program should be prepared," the chairman of the DPA said.

With regard to what extent unification of opposition to a single team is possible, Jalaloglu said that it is very easy to do.

"It depends on our will power. We in any form and at any time can decide that depends directly on the opposition, on its right decisions and the will," Jalaloglu said.

In turn, the Chairman of the Azadlig party, Ahmed Oruj, does not consider this initiative a successful.

"The result of coalitions created by them can be observed during the past 20 years. At the last moment all of this takes the frivolous form," Oruj added.
