Swedish-Azerbaijani friendship group set up

A ceremony to found a Swedish-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary friendship group has been held at the Swedish Parliament.

Addressing the event, Azerbaijan`s ambassador in Sweden Rafael Ibrahimov highlighted his country`s rich cultural heritage, as well as its economic development, as well as the Armenia-Azerbaijan Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

Social democratic politician, member of the Riksdag Asa Lindestam was elected as chairman of the inter-parliamentary friendship group.

Member of the Riksdag Eva Sonidson was appointed the group`s secretary. The meeting participants also discussed cooperation prospects between Azerbaijani and Swedish parliaments.
