Azerbaijani NGO condemns France

Azerbaijan`s International Disabled Society NGO has condemned the passage by French Senate of a bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called Armenian genocide. The NGO sent a protest statement to the French Senate and the country`s Embassy in Azerbaijan.

The statement was signed by 1200 members of the Society. The statement says the French Senate`s unjust decision contradicts the freedom of speech, thought and expression.

“It would be better if France assessed the Khojaly massacre that happened only 20 years ago, instead of interfering the history. If the French senators are so eager to back the truth, they have to give appropriate assessment to the Khojaly genocide,” the statement underlines.
