Azerbaijan Community of Karabakh protests France's decision

26 January 2012 [16:55] - TODAY.AZ
As earlier reported, Public Association “Azerbaijan community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Azerbaijan Republic” disseminated a statement in connection with adoption in Senate of France of the bill criminalizing negation of the “Armenian genocide”.

The Statement says: “Public Association “Azerbaijan community of the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Azerbaijan Republic” states that regrets in connection with adoption of the bill criminalizing negation of the so-called “genocide of Armenians”, and resolutely condemns the said decision and expresses protest. “Adoption of the bill serves falsification of history and contradicts fundamental human rights, freedom of speech and expression, truth, justice and, finally, the principle of democracy”, the Statement underlines.

“The fact that some members of the Senate of France have voted for this document, casts shade on intermediary mission of France which is one of cochairmen of OSCE Minsk group, engaged in settlement of the Armenia-Azerbaijan, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. Putting a serious damage to efforts to establish peace and stability in a number of the world states, it expresses prejudiced and unfair relation of France to historical events, as a whole, calls into question its objectivity”.
