Baku presents book on Azerbaijan-Turkey successful relations

The Centre for Strategic studies (SCS) and Azerbaijan-Turkey Business Association (ATIB) have today held a presentation of the collection of articles named “Azerbaijan-turkey relations in last 20 years: successes and opportunities.”

SCS Deputy Director Gulshan Pashayeva noted that the adoption of the bill criminalizing the denial of the so-called "Armenian genocide" by the French senate once again stressed the importance for Turkey and Azerbaijan to back each other.

ATIB chairperson Fatima Aslan underlined that the book narrated on the development of Azerbaijan-Turkey relations. In addition Fatima Aslan also added Azerbaijan and Turkey have the shared political interests, root, history and culture.

Chief of the political analysis and informational provision department of Azerbaijan’s Presidential Administration Elnur Aslanov said that the book was about the friendly and fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Elnur Aslanov also spoke about the historical relations between the countries. He noted that Turkey closed the border with Armenia as a protest to the occupation of the Azerbaijani lands.
Turkish Ambassador in Azerbaijan Hulusi Kilic said that the French Senate ignored the Khojaly genocide, which took place 20 years ago, and adopted the decision on the unproved issue claimed to be 100 years ago.

The Ambassador underlined that the relations between the countries were strengthening. “Nagorno Karabakh conflict is also our problem and we want the soonest settlement of this conflict. The closing of borders with Armenia is an example of our fraternity. The borders will not be opened unless the problem is settled,” he added.
