Opposition party not to delay internal elections

Isa Gambar will not postpone the election of the party's head at the forthcoming congress, advisor to the head of Musavat party Sakhavat Alisoy, candidate to head the party said.

"Isa Gambar has a high rating among the Azerbaijani opposition politicians and will not postpone the election of the party's head at the congress. I do not believe that Isa Gambar can take that step. He is interested in fair elections of the party's head. I think bashgan wil carry out this mission and will retain its democratic image," Alisoy told Trend.

The election of the head of Musavat party may be delayed at a congress in March and Isa Gambar powers may be extended until the next congress, member of the Musavat party divan Gubad Ibadoglu told Trend.

Alisoy also believes that there will be no change in the party's policy after the election of a new chairman. "I have been an advisor of the head of Musavat party for 7-8 years. I have always agreed with the policy, so I'm staying at my post, and I think that there won't be any changes in the political course of the party in the future," Alisoy said.

Alisoy believes that even if someone decides to make any changes, it will be impossible to implement it.

It was decided to hold the Eighth Congress on March 3 - 4 at a meeting of the Musavat party on January 7.
